The Business Registration Service Act, 2015 establishes Business Registration Service (BRS) as a semi-autonomous body under the Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice.
BRS has not only adopted the concept of “moving data to people” but also “putting people first”and serving the people in a better, faster and in a more responsive manner. The World Bank Report, Doing Business 2020, indicates Kenya has improved five positions to 56 globally on attractiveness to investors, the latest World Bank Ease of Doing Business has revealed. This is up from 61 last year.
This has been pegged on among among others, automation of systems that have made starting business in Kenya easy.
The position 56 is out of 190 countries measured in the ease of doing business index.
BRS together with its strategic partners and stakeholders strive to improve this ranking to position 50 by the year 2020.
