     ONE (6) POSTS

     

    The Senior Assistant Registrar of Companies shall report to the Registrar of Companies.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities for this cadre will entail:- ensuring efficient and effective administration and operation of the Companies Act; supervising the Registration of Business Name Act and the Limited Liability Partnership Act; registering and deregistering companies, business names, limited liability partnerships, debentures and charges; maintaining records in the companies registry; undertaking investigation and prosecutions; undertaking law review in areas relating to business registration; attending consultative meetings with stakeholders; preparing reports; creating linkages with professional bodies on matters of development of the legal framework for companies registration; handling client complaints and mediating between disputing parties; implementing sectional work plans; monitoring and evaluation of the performance of the section.

     

    Requirements for Appointment

    For an appointment to this grade, an officer must: -

    • Have Served in the grade of an Assistant Registrar of Companies or a comparable position for a minimum period of three (3) years;
    • Hold a Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized institution;

    ADVERT NO. 20/2020 – SENIOR ASSISTANT OFFICIAL RECEIVER, JOB GRADE BRS 4, FIVE (5) POST

     

    The Senior Assistant Official Receiver shall report to the Official Receiver: -

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities for this cadre will entail:- verifying new petitions lodged before payment; files before registration; responding to all correspondences assigned; advising clients on petition requirements and compliance requirements under Insolvency Act and any requirement under any incidental Act; mediating disputes; Performing legal advisory and research and handling complaints; holding creditors meetings; perusal and approval of the debtors scheme of arrangement and or proposal; prepare and submit legal and advisory opinions; tracing assets of the debtor and companies in liquidation, ensuring assets are preserved, valued and insured; ensuring that statements of affairs for both companies and debtors are filed; attending court; making all necessary applications in court; and distribution of assets to creditors.

     

    Requirements for Appointment

    For an appointment to this grade, an officer must: -

    • Have served in the grade of a Senior Official Receiver or a comparable position for a minimum period of three (3) years;
    • Hold a Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized institution;

    ADVERT NO. 21/2020 SENIOR ASSISTANT MPSR, JOB GRADE BRS 4 ONE (1) POST.

    The Senior Assistant MPSR shall report to the Deputy Registrar Movable Property and Security Rights (MPSR)-

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities for this cadre will entail:- ensuring efficient and effective administration and operation of the Movable Property Security Rights Act, Registration of Movable Property Security Rights instruments, renewal of Movable Property Security Rights Instruments; filing of cancellation Notices;  extension of time of a Collateral, amendment of Movable Property Security Rights Instruments; registration of Hire Purchase Agreements  and licensing of Hire Purchase Concerns; undertaking law review in areas relating to MPSR; attending consultative meetings with stakeholders; preparing reports; creating linkages with professional bodies on matters of development of the legal framework for MPSR; handling client complaints; implementing sectional work plans; monitoring and evaluation of performance of the section.

     

    Requirements for Appointment

    For an appointment to this grade, an officer must -

    • Have served in the grade of an Assistant Registrar of MPSR or a comparable position for a minimum period of three (3) years;
    • Hold a Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized institution;

    The Senior Accountant shall report to the Deputy Director of Finance and Accounts

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities for this cadre will entail:- supervising the preparation of financial accounts and statements; monitoring expenditure trends; undertaking expenditure and review forecasts; prioritizing projects and activities for the purpose of financial reporting; undertaking oversight of commitment of funds and expenditure trends; developing and implementing financial controls and procedures; reviewing outdated processes and procedures; maintaining proper books of accounts; and undertaking cash planning and disbursement.

     

    Requirements for Appointment

    For an appointment to this grade, an officer must: -

    • Have served in the grade of Accountant I or in a comparable position for at least three (3) years;
    • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting Option) with Part III of or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Have passed Part III of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination;
    • Certificate in Management Course from a recognized institution;

    ADVERT NO. 2/2020: ACCOUNTANT I/II, JOB GRADE BRS 5/6, ONE (1) POST

    The Accountant I shall report to the Senior Accountant.

     

    ADVERT NO. 24/2020: ACCOUNTANT I, JOB GRADE BRS 5

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities for this cadre will entail:- verifying vouchers and committal documents; overseeing periodic financial data capture for budget forecasts; maintaining cash books, ledgers, vote books, registers; preparing management reports including imprest and expenditure returns; keeping safe custody of Service’s records of accounts and assets; administering Local Purchase Orders (LPO), Local Service Orders (LSO); assisting in the development and implementation of financial controls and procedures; and reviewing outdated accounting processes and procedures.

     

    Requirements for appointment

    For an appointment to this grade, an officer must: -

    • Have served in the grade of Accountant II or in a comparable position for at least three (3) years;
    • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Commerce (Accounting option), Economics, Business Administration (Accounting option), Business Management (Accounting option), Finance or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Have passed part II of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination or it's equivalent
    • Certificate in management course from a recognized institution;

    ADVERT NO. 24/2020: – ACCOUNTANT II, JOB GRADE BRS 6,

    The Accountant II shall report to the Senior Accountant.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities for this cadre will entail: - assisting in the preparation of financial accounts and statements; preparing, examining and verifying vouchers; balancing of cash book and advance ledgers; undertaking bank reconciliation; and keeping safe custody of accounting records.

     

    Requirements for appointment

    For an appointment to this grade, an officer must: -

    • Hold a Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: - Commerce (Accounting option), Economics, Business Administration (Finance option), Business Management (Accounting option), Finance or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution

    The Supply Chain Management Officer II shall report to the Senior Supply Chain Management Officer

    Duties and responsibilities for this cadre will entail: - implementing existing supplies regulations, procedures and system; recommending disposal of unserviceable stores; compiling procurement plans; sourcing for suppliers; conducting stock control, stock taking and stock audit; and implementing of e-procurement strategies.

    Duties and responsibilities for this cadre will entail: - preparing store requisitions; updating the stores/stocks cards; ensuring goods delivered by suppliers are of the right/required quality and quantity; issuing stores to other departments/divisions; preparing payment documents for suppliers; and distributing quotations requests.

    The Senior Records Management Officer shall report to the Registrar of Companies 

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities for this cadre will entail: -interpreting and implementing record management policies; developing records management systems; ensuring that file movement records are updated and maintained; overseeing the security of files and documents; ensuring receipt and proper dispatch of mails; preparing appraisal and disposal schedule of files and documents in liaison with relevant agencies; and preparing and submitting plans and budget estimates for the registry.

     

    Requirements for Appointment

    For an appointment to this grade, an officer must: -

    • Have served in the grade of Records Management Officer I or in a comparable position for a minimum period of three (3) years;
    • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Records Management, Information Management, Library Science or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Hold a Certificate in Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
    • Hold a Certificate in computer applications; and

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities for this cadre will entail: - ensuring that letters are filed and marked for action; overseeing the updating and maintenance of up to date file movement records; ensuring the security of files and documents; ensuring receipt and proper dispatch of mails and maintaining related registers; initiating appraisal and disposal of files and documents ensuring the proper handling of documents, pending correspondence and bring-ups; opening and controlling of files; and updating file index;

     

    Requirements for Appointment

    For an appointment to this grade, an officer must: -

    • Have served in the grade of Records Management Officer II or in a comparable position for a minimum period of three (3) years;
    • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Records Management, Information Management, Library Science or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Hold a Certificate in computer applications; and
    • Demonstrated professional competence as reflected in work performance and results.

    An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer.

    The Chief Assistant Office Administrator shall report to the Director-General          

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities for this cadre will entail: ensuring the security of office equipment, documents and records; recording dictation in shorthand and transcribing in typewritten form; processing data and managing e-office; planning and organizing meetings, workshop/conferences and seminars operating office equipment; responding to correspondences; attending to visitors/clients; handling telephone calls, inquiries and appointments; handling protocols and confirming travel itineraries; and managing office petty cash.

     

    Requirements for Appointment

    For an appointment to this grade, an officer must: -

    • Have served in the grade of Assistant Office Administrator I or in a comparable position for a minimum period of three (3) years;
    • Have passed all the secretarial examinations from the Kenya National Examinations Board (KNEC);

    OR

    • Hold a Bachelors degree in Secretarial Studies or a Diploma in Secretarial Studies from the Kenya National Examinations Board;
    • Hold a Certificate in Supervisory Skills from a recognized institution;
    • Hold a Certificate in computer applications; and

    Reporting to the respective Head of Department, an officer at this cadre will be deployed to perform clerical duties in the different departments of the Service.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities for this cadre will entail:-  planning and coordinating clerical duties; supervising the maintenance of files and records; preparing, checking and filing documents or vouchers in relevant files; making photocopies as required by department or office; compiling statistical records from routine sources of data; computing financial or statistical data; and handling simple correspondence in liaison with supervisor.  In addition, the officer will induct and supervise other clerks in the area of deployment; supervising and guiding staff working under him/her sorting out of mail; and supervising the processing of staff claims, allowances and benefits.

     

    Requirements for Appointment

    For an appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -

    • Served in the grade of Clerical Officer I for at least three (3) years;
    • A Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade of C- or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
    • Passed KAME intermediate examinations offered by the Kenya Secretaries National Examination Board (KASNEB);
    • Proficiency in computer application skills; and
    • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities for this cadre will entail compiling statistical records; sorting out letters and filing them; dispatching letters and maintaining an efficient filing system; processing appointments, promotions, discipline cases, transfers and other related duties in human resource management; preparing payment vouchers; computation of financial or statistical records based on routine or special sources of information; compiling data; and drafting simple letters.

     

    Requirements for Appointment

    For an appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -

    • Served in the grade of Clerical Officer II or in a relevant and comparable position for a minimum period of three (3) years;
    • A Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade of C- or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution
    • Passed the government proficiency examinations for Clerical Officers;
    • Proficiency in computer application skills; and
    • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
