BRS tops at the Africa Region Cybersecurity Symposium

BRS participated in the Africa Region Cybersecurity Collaboration Symposium organized by the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) where two of our officers successfully completed the cybersecurity training and hackathon, where one officer, Amos Wako achieved a significant milestone by attaining position 1 out of 40 MCDAs in Kenya who participated in the seven rigorous cyber security drills.

The event was the key highlight of the Cybersecurity and Awareness Month (OCSAM) in October 2024 observed by both the public and private sectors to raise awareness of cyber safety and cybersecurity through various activities designed to equip consumers with the necessary knowledge to safeguard themselves online.

According to the Communications Authority of Kenya, “Trends show that in 2018, a year before Kenya unveiled its Digital Economy Blueprint, cyber-attacks directed at Kenya stood at 7.7 million, skyrocketing to an all-time high of 1.1 billion as at June 2024.”
